Ioxus at the EV-China Show

Late last month our team spent time with over 200 other exhibitors in China to share and explore new technologies and products for electric vehicles. We always enjoy these types of events, especially in such a key and robust market using ultracapacitor technology.

Held at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center, the 7th EV-China Show was a great opportunity for Ioxus to meet in-person with potential customers and buyers. As the world’s largest auto market, China is also the number one marker for ultracapacitor technology as well. Last September, we announced incorporation of Ioxus (Shanghai) Clean Energy Technology Co., Ltd., in Shanghai to establisher closer ties to the region. Now we’re able to sell directly to the Asian market and better serve the needs of our rapidly growing global customer base.

Ultracapacitors make sense for a number of reasons worldwide and across multiple applications, but many of the benefits are particularly important to China and its environment. Recyclability should be a top priority when purchasing any ESS in any region. Battery-based EVs have no plan for disposal, and can be very expensive and are harmful to the environment. Unlike lithium ion, ultracapacitors are 95 percent plus recyclable, as they’re made with no heavy metals. This design results in lighter vehicles, which helps to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. Ultracapacitor adoption, like in hybrid buses, is helping the county hit its pledge of 5 million alternative-energy-powered vehicles on the roads by 2020.

  • uSTART® Lead-Free Replacement for Truck Batteries

    ONEONTA, N.Y.Jan. 9, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Ioxus uSTART® has received two fleet industry awards for sustainability by eliminating lead-acid batteries with its ultracapacitor-based, drop-in battery replacement.

    EU legislation on batteries is embodied in the European Battery Directive.  Its objective is to contribute to the preservation and improvement of environmental quality by minimizing the negative impact of batteries and battery waste.  As these preservation efforts expand, sustainable technologies develop to manage and mitigate these risks.
