Ioxus Launches Thin Cell THiNCAP™ iMOD™ Ultracapacitor Modules

Today we introduced our THiNCAP™ iMOD™ modules, which consist of high power, thin, flexible ultracapacitor packs instead of cylindrical cells. The THiNCAP iMOD series is ideal for power conditioning and automated guided vehicle (AGV) applications. With this addition to our product line, Ioxus is able to give customers the most extensive technology offerings in the industry.

The THiNCAP iMOD modules save space and weight, meaning users benefit from:

  • Reduced total cost of ownership as compared to batteries;
  • Longer life;
  • Higher cycle count;
  • Wider operational temperature range; and
  • Reduced maintenance requirements.

These modules are an optimal solution for power conditioning and voltage sag compensation in short-term uninterruptible power supplies (UPS). They protect against voltage disruptions and ensure a smooth power supply to factory equipment and mission-critical applications, including telecommunications, silicon and food production, renewable energy, hospitals and pharmaceuticals. AGVs and robotics also benefit from the quick charge and long life possible with modules. Charge times are cut in half and productivity and operating times are increased as the need for battery replacement or charging is eliminated.

    ONEONTA, N.Y.Jan. 9, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Ioxus uSTART® has received two fleet industry awards for sustainability by eliminating lead-acid batteries with its ultracapacitor-based, drop-in battery replacement.
